Winter driving
Any Canadian member or those from the northern states who have had their JK through the winter? Did you have any issues with traction? Did you guys run with weight in the back?

No issues with traction for getting going in the snow. In fact, it's great.
The Rubi tires are not good on icy roads, though.

As long as you don't have rubi tires the JK will perform very well in the snow. I drive a 2dr Sahara and I have yet to see a vehicle that handles better IMO. By the way I'm from NE Ohio where we get all the lake effect snow.

Familiarize yourself with the steering wheel dance. Also a switch inline on the right wire can control abs functioning. A friend showed me to go in 4 hi and push and hold the ESP button. Wait for a ding and the dash to say "ESP off" It can be done while in drive and moving. I do it lots due to constant icy conditions on side streets and dry pavement on main roads. Much faster than the steering wheel dance.

Ontario here.... With a 4 dr X model. I have 35" Duratracs for winter no problem at all. I probably have an extra 80lbs in the back with tools recovery gear etc.
What I do every first good snowfall is hit a big empty part of a parking lot and get re-familiarized with my jeep. Brake hard get to know your stopping distance, some sharp turns etc you'll learn how your jeep handles and reacts..... So hopefully if you ever have to react in a situation you're not going to panic and wonder what your jeeps going to do.
