Default Here is mine...

Warn M8000 winch. Harbor Freight mounting plate. Winch controller is hidden behind the bumper. Clocked the end of the winch so the free-spool lever would clear both the crossmember and metal bumper w/o cutting. Didn't have to cut or lengthen any wires... everything fit perfect!

Really nice work! Do you have any photos of the installation process? Would like to see how you attached the fairlead...looks alot cleaner than some others I've seen.

Default Awesome clean look

This is exactly how I want my Sahara to look when finished. Air do you have any additional photos of your install?

All these write ups are awesome! Has anyone done this on a Rubicon model? Will the swaybar disconnect get in the way? Anyone have dimensions on a DIY winch plate?

I bought a plate from Harbor Freight and cut it to fit with a handheld grinding wheel.

I installed a Smittybilt XRC 9.5K on my 12 Rubicon without too much trouble. I mounted it right side up with the clutch lever oriented up thru the winch plate. I used a Harbor Freight winch plate and mounted the winch out as afar as possible while keeping the fog lights functional. To get enough clearance between the winch gearbox and the sway bar disconnect motor, I bent the edisco hanger slightly, ~ 1/4in. This gave me enough clearance and the edisco still works fine. I tried to indicate the bend on the edisco hanger with red lines on the pic below. Very easy to remove and bend the hanger with a little heat applied. I made spacers and a backing plate for the hawse plate and had them all welded up to the winch plate. i also had to relieve the top backside of the plastic bumper to allow the clutch lever to rotate forward. Topped it off with a Steel Armadillo flip up license plate bracket.Click image for larger version

When I did mine, I relocated the brake booster. I simply cut the existing bracket off the frame, mounted it under the hood and was able to just pull apart the hose and reconnect a shorter existing version. Note: I have a 2015 rubi. No problem with the disco, but the trimming and adjustment of the winch plate and the bumper took some test fitting.
