Seeing as how I have no welding or fab skills, it looks like I'm going to mount my dual compressor in the back of the jeep, inside of the rear wheel well. I'm not stoked about running that much power cable but I can't find another spot to fit the bill. Now I have to remove the inner fender liner and make sure it's safe to drill through so close to the fuel spout.
Do you mean behind the tail light? Why not mount it on the passenger side, away from the fuel? It's safer and a shorter route to your battery.

Mines fitted under the passenger seat on a RHD here in Aus. Just have to fold up the tab/bracket underneath and it fit perfect! Airs up my 305/65/17 procomp extreme MUDs from 12psi - 36psi in 70seconds! Love it!!

Great product but they screwed the pooch on the mounting bracket, or lack thereof

Yes, I am very happy with mine mounted under passenger seat. It stays warm safe clean and dry. I needed to fab a mounting plate for the floor board, then attach the arb mounting bracket to that. Ran the electrical through the pass side firewall grommet, and put the switch just behind the shifter in center console.
It's an outstanding piece of kit, airs my 35's from 10lbs in 5 minutes total. It will run air tools, just not very well due to lack of air reserve. I am adding a 2.5 gallon air tank in a week or so.

I might get an exhaust That doesn't have a muffler out back and mount the tank were the old muffler sat. The I can mount the compressors inside so the won't get wet.

I found a way to mount it in the engine compartment. I used a dual battery tray and mounted my compressor there. Here are some pics. I still need to wire it up but the hard part is done.
