V8 is the way to go! I don't give damn what anybody says. Did a Hemi swap myself for well under $8k and tickled shitless everytime I crank it. So Do a Hemior an LS and you will be happy.

Did the same have 5000 miles on my Hemi swap now. Did it all in my garage just over $7000 all in 2014 wreck for motor with 9000 and tranny from a 2010. I put a GM engine in my old yj and now putting an LS LQ4 in an 83 k1500. The hemi in my 2007 JKUR was the easiest swap I have performed by far.

We have a few installers around the country. The current specials only apply to Vegas. We can arrange transport and in some cases work the cost in to the build.

The GM LS series engines are lightweight, compact, powerful and affordable.
We now support the Gen V LS engines, with Direct Injection, High Compression on regular gas, Continuous VVT, Enhanced Multiple Displacement.....IMO no other V8 makes sense.
Were getting near 450 HP with the L86 engine with perfect drivability and better mpg than the V6.

TBH I don't think the best choice is between a Hemi or a Gen IV LS3 anymore. The Gen V LS with Direct Injection, High Compression, and Continous VVT has raised the performance/economy level to a point that makes other swaps obsolete IMO.

We have a lot of LS JK's in your area. I have a great shop I work with in Canada -The Jeep Doctor, I believe they are in Winnipeg. Call Paul at The Jeep Doctor he is a good guy and I have inspected his work. Paul has good transport rates from BC-Alberta.

Where do you guys find the motor and trans? If I did the 5.3 LS swap I would want one with less than 20k on it. What about new? How does the shifting work on the Motech kit?

On Craig's they get posted with trans for in between 3-5 k.
