Default Jeep JK Trek Top NX with OEM REAR WINDOW TAILGATE BAR RETAINER ?

I recently purchased a trek top nx used for my 2015 jeep jk. It came complete with everything except the rear tailgate bar retainers.

I found these on amazon will oem retainers work with the trek top?

Not 100% sure, but I have heard they will. I just ordered an OEM tailgate bar that I'll be using in my Trektop NX retainer clips because the Trektop tailgate bar is poorly designed (leaves gaps on each end). Should have it by Wednesday and can update you then.

I'm close to ordering one of these tops. Can you please attach pics of the gaps you're talking about?

Not my Jeep, but this is similar to the gap I'm experiencing. I called Bestop about it and was told that this is how the top is designed (really?). The side and rear window panels overlap in a way that prevent rain from entering. While that's generally correct, it certainly doesn't prevent water intrusion from other sources, like a hose while washing, etc. The OEM tailgate bar is supposed to be the solution (see second pic). Other than the tailgate bar, I'm very happy with the top. Click image for larger version

The OEM retainers work fine. Also have no issues with a gap on the tailgate bar.

Dang, that sucks! Not only would it allow more dust to blow in (since it's open in the rear), but it will add to the road noise. I know, I know....it's a Jeep - dust and road noise is common. But then why not just have holes all throughout the stupid top? Anyway, if the OEM tailgate bar seals so much better, I wonder why Bestop didn't copy it?

Is this gap common with everyone that doesn't have an OEM tailgate bar? I should have mine in tomorrow, so I'm interested to see how it'll fit on mine.

I've seen several posts of people complaining of this same problem. My oem tailgate bar should be here tomorrow, so I'll see if it makes a difference.

Got the oem tailgate bar installed tonight. It's a much nicer piece than the Bestop. No more gaps and the weather stripping seals perfectly.
