Installed the LoD sliders. Everything went smooth as silk. That yellow jacket refrigeration valve wrench did the trick for the tap. I highly recommend that anyone doing this to pick one up. Every threaded hole ended up perfect. Click image for larger version

Man they look good. Have had mine for 8 months. Watch the screws that secure the 3 plates on each side. Mine were rusting, and the ends of these screws are visible when getting in/out. Even the LOD silver label was rusting. This is after a winter in Utah but with a weekly car wash during that time. Might want to think about replacing those screws with stainless steel ones. I just completed touch up painting (due to rust) the sliders and replacing those screws - had to drill two out as they were rusted in. I should've used anti-seize the first time. These SS screws fit on mine. 1/4"-28 1/2"

18-8 Stainless Steel Machine Screw, Plain Finish, Pan Head, Phillips Drive, Meets ASME B18.6.3, 1/2" Length, Fully Threaded, 1/4"-28 UNF Threads (Pack of 50): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Sorry to have no input on the drill/tap. I really don't remember.

The LOD's are really starting to grow on me. On these pics, is this the standard textured version? If so, I think I'm sold since it looks like it's semi-gloss. I can't stand the look of super-textured bed-lined bumpers, etc. Reminds me of that Starwood Customs junk.

Why would you want to keep them on?
