Regearing cost
What did it cost you to regear? I live in Albuquerque nm and I got two estimates from local 4x4 shops. Both seem over the top, $1600 and $1900. Wondering if I should bite the bullet? Just seems really steep.

Gears and overhauls $600
Arb air locker $850
Arb compressor with evo mount, tire inflater with gage $350
Poison spyder diff covers $200
Labor 13 hours, fluids, tax $1250
All in all I'm in about $3250

Yea, that's for regear alone. Includes parts and labor. I've seen gear packages with master overhaul kits online as low as $550, so most of that is labor

I paid almost $2,000 total for my 5.38's from a very reputable 4x4 shop. By the time you buy gears, master instal kits, oils, gaskets, and pay for labor I would expect nothing less. For those of you who list prices of $1,000-1,200 for full instals I would be worried about the brand of parts or the lack of good labor. Just saying! BTW mine were full Yukon gear sets and their master instal kits.
I've heard to many horror stories of people trying to find the cheapest place to get gears done and then regreting it a few thousand miles later. Gears to tight causing heat or noise coming from drivetrain ect. You get what you pay for most of the time.

If that includes labor that is a good deal. I never said it wasn't doable but some people get taken by shaddy shops using cheap gear sets and underexperienced techs. I'm sure Offroad Evolution does not fit in that category.
