Default Want to know if this is a good price...

I called my local 4wd store and they quoted me 1500 for 4.88 gears for my jku Sahara with 3.73gears. Is that a good price or not?

NOTHING is cheap in Southern CA, but there are several reputable shops out here that will do it for 1k. I would keep calling around.

If you're in AZ then give a call to desert rat. We have one here in Abq that does a 1000 dollar special, it's going on here right now. It's anything from 4.10 to 5.13 gears and labor all included

$1500 sounds super cheap to me here in NY CT labor and parts go for $2000-2500 I just had mine done $2200 for 4.88's and rear truetrac. That being said I check for reliability on $1000 gear specials.

This may angry some guys out there, but here in the Great Lake states I paid $400 for both axles. I supplied the parts though.

4 Wheel Supply by the airport. Ask for Barry. They've been doing gears a long time and they are around $1100. I asked the same question on the local jeep forum and that is the place most of the local jeeps recommended so I had mine done there. No issues
