they used 500 amp fuses for each winch.
That's great. I'm glad to see they used a Warn power interrupt for the front and rear jumper cable hookups and the front winch. That's what I have and I was concerned with the load capacity of the solenoid but I'm good. Thanks!

Very informative thread. I think any of us who have a winch or run one in the past has had this question cross their mind. I have my positive terminal disconnected from the battery unless I am heading off into the woods. This might be the trick for my VR8000-S. Glad someone bumped this old thread.

I installed the breaker. I bought 12" of pre assembled, marine grade 2ga wire. I put a loop in it which seems to keep everything tightly in place. I also taped the neck out of it to avoid accidental contact. I feel better knowing it's not live 24/7 now.

Feedback welcome.

X2 on the warn interrupt. I hooked it up to my sPod and it works perfect, so far. I can feel the thump when I switch on the power.

Looks good, have you tried good pull yet? BTW, if you ever replace battery terminals, the Quadratec terminals work nice.

Nice terminals.

No, I haven't even tried the winch. That would have been smart. Duh. It was getting cold so I just wanted to finish.

Know what you mean, it's only a couple degrees warmer here in the PNW. Come on springtime

Installed mine today. Must've gotten a bad part. Winch works when connected to battery. Sucks

Bad parts always mess up the fun! Curious if the switch lever stays in the on position when turned, or is it loose like it's broke inside?
