Bay Area shops who'll install used gears?
Anyone know of any shops in the Bay Area that'll install used gears? The few I've called so far will only do new ones...

It's a ton of work for gears that might fail. I'm speaking from experience bought used rear ends with gears and the back axel housing is bent. Long story short more money down the toilet.

Im not sure if they will do used gears, but talk to http://www .rearendspecialties.com in santa Clara. They did my gears and did a great job... great experience all round.

Mike Shaffer at Shaffers Off Road (Alameda) did mine. He sometimes runs a $800 forum special. Mine ended up being about $1400 with Grizzly locker in the rear and new carrier up front. The stock 3.21 carrier isn't large enough to handle 4.88 gears.
