Hemi swap, supercharged or direct injected?
So, heres my story...
07 wrangler with 150 on the odometer, just replaced the tranny...im on 35's some weight, and love to go up to big bear but the lack of power is brutal!
So I went and bought a Sprintex supercharger for it...was going to install it then realized I have a 5.7 HEMI (2006 Magnum)engine in the warehouse...But I also thought about saying screw it and just buy a 12+ jeep with the pentastar, and rebuild that rig...
My question is...would you supercharge a weak 3.8 engine with 150k miles
rebuild a 5.7 HEMI and buy a 5k install kit
or sell my rig and buy a newer rig with the 3.6
any .02 would be awsome!

If you can afford it I would do the Hemi swap. I would not supercharge the 3.8 with that many miles. Although I have not driven a newer Jeep with the 3.6, I can't believe there is that much more power over the 3.8.

Haven driven both the 3.8 and now a 3.6. There is a HUGE difference on power. That said if u can swing the hemi go that route

Having recently switched from a '10 to a '15, I can verify that there is a substantial difference between the two. Both were auto, both have factory 4.10s , and both are on 35s. The '15 gets me at speed with ease, and doesn't scream at me while accelerating. Now I should also add that the 10 was a fully loaded 4 door with all the goodies. I'm not sure how much all the extra stuff weighed, but that plus dropping down to a 2 door helped shave some weight. Maybe that also made a slight difference.
