I finally fixed my pinging, oil-guzzling, under-powered 2007!!
Little background: I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X 4 door. From the beginning it has used oil, pinged, has been under-powered, had the throwout bearing go out twice, it was leaking oil through the timing chain covers, among other little issues. Well after a lot of hard work, I finally was able to fix ALL of these programs.
After talking it over with the wife, and thinking about leaving Jeep entirely and getting a truck, I am the proud new owner of a 2016 Rubicon Hard Rock 4 Door! It is fully loaded, automatic, in exactly the colors and configuration I was looking for! So far I am in love with it. I am so glad I decided to stay with Jeep and not get a boring truck or something! I wasn't looking necessarily for a Hard Rock, but when I saw it in person, I knew it was the Jeep for me! I left knowing that I got every single feature I wanted with it, down to the color and hard top color.
Of note, these jeeps hold their value really well. I bought my 07 for something like 24, and traded it in for a bit over 11. That was with some hail damage, carpet damage, and 75k miles on it. Pretty good if you ask me.
These forums got me through a ton of headaches with my 07, and I hope that I don't have as many headaches, but knowing the forum is here makes it simple should I have any issues!

nice !
you went into detail on the going price of your 07 but
didnt give any info on new vehicle price .
generally if they give you a great trade in price the new vehicle price reflects it some how . Not that it really matters in overall being satisfied with what you got now. ive paid full sticker before and still was ok with it rather than stay in what i was driving at the time.
Hope you got a trouble free one this time. i know i had a lot of issues when i first bought my 12 but it got better for me as things got taken care of under warranty or aftermarket parts fixed some of my issues . I sometimes wish i had a trailer or my old truck back at times though . But i also couldnt part with my low gearing and swaybar release lockers and the tight interior quarters of my jeep lol.
Your wife will have to drag you out of it at 2 am for the first week or so .
