I installed the synergy draglink since my stock one had play in it. after completing the install the synergy draglink is close to touching the tierod. Any suggestions how to correct this.

It's a high steer drag link. It was designed to be flipped! Which is the only reason why I'm not running it since I'm only at a 2.5" AEV lift.

This is normal for a synergy draglink in the stock position. It is big and heavy and angled forward, and those joints are designed to let it rotate a bit.

Here is one old thread from late 2013 that talks about it, shouldn't be hard to find others if you need more replies saying it's normal...

Correct. I retract my previous statement although it does seem pretty crowded in the stock position...

SYNERGY MANUFACTURING :: Steering :: Synergy Jeep JK Heavy Duty Drag Link

-Drag Link will bolt right in to the factory mounts or can be relocated to the top of the steering knuckle for a high steer setup (See Notes for high steer requirements)

You need to Loosen the jam not on the pitman arm end and the pinch but on the knuckle end and rotate the bar more upward,

The synergy draglink can be used upped or not flipped.

You just need to reposition it in then relighted everything.

Do this while installed on the jeep.

On their website it said this can be installed in the stock location. Is it better to flip it to the high steer location? My JKU X is stock suspension only thing different is the rubicon shocks and springs I installed a few months back.

No, If you flip it on the knuckle you will also need to raise the track bar. Since you are stock this is not something you want to do. You need a minimum of 3" lift to use this.

Also, it is not as easy as just "flipping" it. You will either need to drill the knuckle hole and use a bushing or use a reamer to put a taper on the other side.

This. You just loosen the joints on both ends and rotate the bend up. It works well stock or flipped.
