PA Speaker Horn Install
Who has successfully installed a PA speaker horn? I'd like to see pictures if you have them. Underhood looks tight for a PA horn. But that's where I 'd like to put mine.
Any advice as to what size, type, brand, location, etc. for this installation?
Much obliged,
JeepGeezer

5" PA Speaker Install
I bought my PA speaker off of ebay. It was about $20 and small enough to be mounted on the drivers side inner fender. The description was a "5 inch Black ABS PA horn". It fits perfectly and does not interfere with anything. I got it because it is supposedly "weatherproof" and loud enough to get the job down.
Installed
Ran the wires through the firewall behind the brake booster.
Comes with more than enough wire to go to where my CB is mounted.
I'm not sure of the brand, but pretty much any 5" PA speaker will fit here

A tip of the hat to you sir! Many thanks for the photos. That's perfect!
I also like the ABS idea as opposed to metal.
Thanks for the hand up.
Best,

I have a COGA PA system with 2 Speakers, both are mounted to the frame rails behind my bumper. Used some HD zip ties and cinched the mounting plate up to the frame. One on the drivers side and one on the passenger.
You can barely see the bottom lip of the speaker, but you have to be crouching down. I had these mounted under the hood of my commander and having them mounted outside of the engine bay makes them A LOT louder.
I can grab some close-up pictures of the mounting/speakers if you want them.
Amplivox, COGA, and Wolo all make good PA systems. Amplivox is more on the high end with Wolo and COGA having more reasonable prices. COGA claims to pull 110db out of their system but I've never gotten more than 105db, still very loud, but you're not going to scare the piss out of anyone in traffic. The nice thing about my COGA system is it has programmable and recordable sound settings, not really necessary but it is funny to blast a Duck quack at people once in a while.
