Exposed pinch seam. Sometimes manuals have trouble staying in certain gears. Hmmmm. Slightly higher CG.

I have exactly what you describe.

The only con so far has been that, I had to cut out some of the inner shifter boot. I haven't yet sealed it back up as I wanted to see how bad it was in winter. So far can't say as I even notice it's got a big hole in it, except my coffee gets colder faster in the cup holder, on the flip side....it keeps the slurpee colder longer. EVEN STEVEN.

I plan to use a tire tube, cut a piece out of it and use the tire patch glue to seal up the hole come summer. this will stop any water and dust issues.

The only other con is that when it's really cold out -25c and below it's a bit of bugger getting it into 2, 4, and reverse (6 is fine for some reason) it goes in but you can feel the extra resistance. Every once in a blue moon, like almost never it will pop out, as i didn't put it fully into gear, but again only when really cold out.

Past that no other problems or issues. I think it makes the 2.5" coil lift and 35" tires look just perfect.

I would do it again on any JK in the future. cheap raise.

Rough Country has a body lift that seems to remove several of the cons to a BL

I think if used in conjunction with a coil lift, it would round out the JK. Give you a little more room in the fenders while keeping the COG low.

The cog will be lower when compared to adding an extra inch in coil height. The real weight (drivetrain and frame) is kept at coil height but fender clearance is gained.

Just unattractive. And some folks have taken simple steps to cover it up--such as painting some right angle molding black and tacking it over the seam.

That's cool. I helped Rescue_X and TORN to install a 1" Bl a while back and TORN had come up with a taller seal that fits between the top of the tranny and the bottom of the center console to seal up that area. He got it from Jeep, IIRC. I don't think the kit linked above addresses that area, so if anyone is interested they might PM TORN for details.
