Anyone else have 17" procomp steelies?

I went to get new tires put on and the shop noticed the wheels had no rings, which they said were bad cause then all the weight is on the lugs...

I see you can order the rings online, but I have no idea what size to get. Does anyone know?

Can't say I know for sure, but I was considering ProComp wheels, I couldn't figure out how the rings would work if you run with the center cap. I went with AEV wheels instead as they are hub centric and the backspacing is sized with the JK in mind. Rugged Ridge makes hub-centric rims for the JK as well.

anyone know if the mickey thompson rims are hub centric? i like the look of the sidebiter ones.

not to hijack the thread but do only the steelies need the rings? I was looking at 8179 Pro Comps' and was assuming i wouldn't need anything else.

How were able to tell your dimension? Im assuming the OD is the size of the hole in the wheel and ID is the size of the hub itself that goes in the hole?

Okay now I have some questions... Sorry to hijack... What is hubcentric about? anyone have a good source to learn about this?

Where can I find out if my wheels are hubcentric?

So I just looked them up, and my wheels do not appear to be hubcentric. I get a lot of vibration, could this be the reason?

Yes it could be. I am ordering rings for mine just to be on the safe side.

A Lot of finagling around because calipers would not fit flush inside rim. Read somewhere most aftermarket wheels are 3.3" or 83.82mm so took some long wooden bar-b-q match sticks cut and sanded to 78, 82, 83.82, and 87mm which were the only choices for the 71.5mm which was JK hub. Went to a local 4WD prefer ordering in person and handed the specs to the guy behind the counter, he ordered. Showed up in three or four days to find out they ordered wrong ones and don't even carry anything close to that size Ended up ordering online at 1010 tires had them to me in a week.

As for what they do. Taking the weight off the lugs and putting back on the hub as in the stock wheels. They help to fill the space between the hub and rim, a better overall wheel and tire balance can be achieved (Center caps cannot be used with rings)

Looks like the only hub centric pro comps are the 6 on 5.5, 5 on 135mm, and 6 on 135mm bolt patterns add the w ww.procomptires.com/PCT_Wheel_Specs_Catalog.pdf

Thanks just ordered a set from 1010. Will the tires need to be rebalanced once these are installed?
