Vision-X Tantrum Rock Light Sale
In the world of rock lights, Vision-X still sets the standard and comes in at a very reasonable price point. I've been running these on my trail beater for the last two wheeling seasons and simply put, there isn't a better and more versatile rock light on the market today.
Tantrum kits are the ultimate strobe system on the market, featuring one of a kind LED pods that have lead the Tantrum kits to become popular for way more than just LED strobe kits for your car. Today Tantrum kits are found on the trails of Moab mounted to rock crawling jeeps, the dunes of Arizona for night time illumination where 55watt fog lights used to be the norm, and in the Baja 1000 providing working light for night time repairs.
Each kits consists of eight 1 watt pods, master controller with built-in microphone for sound interface, distribution block, wireless remote with a 1000' range, and cigarette lighter adapter for plug-and-play installations (this can also be used to be permanently hardwire to the battery if you wish).
In this post I want to give the run down on these lights and compare them to other options out there on the market.
What comes in the box.
First off these are completely plug and play installation. Other options on the market almost always require creative wiring, splicing, cutting, trimming and figuring out how to tie in multiple lights into one on/off source. Others require you to figure out complex wiring diagrams. Vision-X comes with eight light pods. Each light pod is pre-wired so that it is just a matter of connecting the female end of the light to the male end of distribution block. Then one single wire harness connects the distribution block to the light controller. You control your lights with either the master controller or through the handy wirelesss remote control that you can connect to your keychain.
Now let's take output and features compared to other products on the market. Each pod consists of multiple LEDs in each capsule and is projected in more of a spot pattern. Why is this important? Each light properly placed throughout the vehicle will give you plenty of light output to see under your rig when riding at night. This is great for getting over and around obstacles. What about others that claim more light output and a bigger spread of light? This is NOT a benefit and here's why. You're out on a run at night going through a rock garden and you have a spotter guiding you through the obstacles. Uncontrolled spread on the light will blind your spotter. These lights are designed to give you plenty of light output for both you and your spotter to get through the tough stuff without problems.
Budget friendly. Regular price is $119 plus shipping, but forum members get a deal! Compare this to the homebrew setups like people going out and buying those $20 Walmart light kits. Four of those kits to get eight lights from Walmart would cost $80 plus tax. Then you have to go through the frustration of getting all those lights to work together. More fun cutting and splicing! Then those bulky halogen lights get smashed on rocks and you have to replace them. Or they get hot and get splashed with cold water and you have to replace them. Or they get water inside them. Or they drain on your battery and charging system from running multiple halogen lights. This could go on and on. Another budget solution is where you use cheap LED light strips. There is no protection from the elements and thus corrosion and chemicals will eventually lead to light failure. They have an uncontrolled spread on the light pattern. Not to mention, once again the time and annoyance of splicing, wiring, etc. With Vision-X, the LEDs are cast into acrylic resin so water can't get to the actual light source, have a low 0.67A draw and have a small enough footprint that makes them much less vulnerable underneath your rig.
And lastly, the bling. They're available in multiple colors. White, blue, amber, green, red and multi-color. They just flat out look nice. The install is very clean. And even though us rock crawler guys use them for function, one can't help but to use the extra features built into the controller. Strobe, light following (chasing), lighting up to a music or sound source, etc. I have to admit, it provides entertainment when riding on the trails at night. Or for working on your rig on a late night trail repair. Or finding your rig when parked at a crowded mall parking lot at night. Or for screwing with the significant other's cat when it slips into the garage.
Please call us for a great deal on these lights.

I'm trying to get my rock light hooked up but have hit a snag. I can't get the cable for the controller through the firewall. I have tried the spot on the passengers side through the foam, but the gap in the metal isn't big enough.
Is there another spot where I can get the cable through? Is there a good place to drill a hole someplace in the firewall?
