Jeep Trackhawk’s 707 Horsepower Released in the Wild

Some lucky guy gets a chance to test a RHD version of the new Hellcat-inspired Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

The story of how this guy managed to land some seat time in the new Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is a story in itself.

But for now, we’ll just revel in this video capturing some of Mr. Lucky’s high-revving moments behind the wheel of the 707-horsepower Jeep. That’s not his actual name, but it certainly seems fitting, given his inexplicable early access to the new Trackhawk.

Oh, and if we sound a little envious of the guy, it’s because we are. After all, can you think of anyone more deserving than one of us here at JK Forum to get some preliminary time in the forthcoming Jeep? Of course, not.

Then again, it does appear that “Mr. Lucky” owns a Hellcat Charger, which you could argue gives him a bit of an edge on the pecking-order list. Come to think about it, we actually should be thanking him for even sharing the 16-minute clip on his Sinister Life YouTube channel, considering that it’s really the first “hands-on” street review we’ve gotten on the Trackhawk.

What’s up with the right-hand-drive setup? Well, apparently, the SUV being tested is actually a loaner model from FCA, being evaluated by an employee with the company who is sitting in the passenger’s seat.

In the clip, it’s tough to make out some of the things that are being discussed between the supposed FCA rep and the driver. But the thing that rings through crystal clear is that the new Grand Cherokee Trackhawk packs a pretty menacing roar.

Then again, it’s not like we didn’t already know that the Hellcat-inspired Jeep was going to be a beast. Still, hearing the Trackhawk’s supercharged engine cut loose in the wild adds a totally new dimension to its appeal.
