Jalopnik’s 1992 Jeep Grand Cherokee Briarwood Project

1992 Grand Cherokee Briarwood has “David Tracy Help Me” written all over it.

One of the things that we really love about fellow Jeep lover David Tracy of Jalopnik is his brutal honesty about everything.

Sure, some of it might just be part of Tracy’s shtick, considering that being way over the top has become a signature trademark in how Jalopnik approaches news about cars that might otherwise come off as rather boring.

Still, the sometimes off-topic things Tracy candidly weaves into his Jeep stories leave you thinking his sincerity isn’t all about keeping readers entertained.

Take, for example, one of his most recent posts, where he talks about deciding whether or not he should take a reader up on an offer for a free 1992 Jeep Cherokee Briarwood.

“What are his motives? Is this a trap? Is Matt Calhoun the real name of infamous Jalopnik commenter ‘david-tracy-is-a-wanker,’ and if so, is this finally his chance to lure me into a dark barn and harvest my organs like he’s been promising for months? I have so many questions.”

David, of course, goes on to say that he’s going to take “Matt” up on his offer. And in all honesty, it really isn’t a big surprise that someone would want to give David a Jeep, given that restoring the vehicles has become one of his big signature things. Hey, if we stumbled on some rather odd, abandoned, nearly-impossible to repair Jeep, we’d probably hand it right over to the Jalopnik writer, as well. Let’s not kid ourselves,
his Jeep projects
have become quite interesting to watch unfold.

So, needless to say, we’ll be keeping a close watch on this one too.
