‘Great Lakes Jeep Thing’ Represents Spirit of Jeep

Chicago Jeep Give Back

Nothing encapsulates the spirit of Jeep like giving back.

Check with any longstanding owner of one of the vehicles, and chances are they’ve been compelled more than once to give back to the community. It’s the kind of thing that you won’t find on any manual for a Jeep, new or old, but it’s certainly one of those things that seems to drive owners of the vehicle.

Take for example, the annual “Great Lakes Jeep Thing” parade aimed at helping local kids in the Chicago area.  The event, now in its 17th year, was organized by a group called Chicago Off-Road Expedition, or CORE, and provides new toys for area youth, as highlighted in a local ABC 7 Eyewitness News report.

No word on just how many folks participated in the Jeep event, but from the looks of the smiles on the faces in the photo, it appears to have been a huge success.
