Ever Seen a Jeep CJ in a Basement?

Jeep CJ-5 Bar

This home-fabricated, Jeep basement bar is the coolest thing we’ve ever seen.

You like to entertain in your home, yes? Having the bros over for a few brewskis. Busting out a few bottles of red when your brother and his wife come over for dinner. Who doesn’t like serving drinks from behind their own home bar?

Jeep CJ-5 Bar

It’s all the more impressive when your bar is made out of a vintage Jeep. If you’re a master fabricator like Eric Younger, owner of the 4×4 specialty shop D and C Extreme Industries in Colorado Springs, Colorado, that’s exactly what you do. He built this CJ-5 ‘Brew-ser’ shown here. We think it’s the raddest thing ever.

For anyone worried about a good Jeep being ruined, don’t fret. Aside from the wheels and tires, Eric says everything is scavenged from used up and broken parts laying around the shop.

He started with a cracked frame, axles with spun bearings, cast-off leaf springs, and cheap fiberglass bodywork. But the rocks underneath are real, and all the lights are wired to work, including those in the gauges. Behind the bar are a fridge, sink, and open counter space. The beverages are served on a nice level butcher-block bar surface.

Apparently, the project was quite the undertaking. For obvious reasons, he couldn’t do any fabrication inside the house, so many parts had to be transported multiple times to the workshop to get things just right. The end result seems was to be worth it, however. The bar has been in service for a few years now and hasn’t required any maintenance. We’re impressed with the look, and we’d certainly like one in our own house. Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether D and C Extreme has made this a lucrative side-business yet.

The Kokopelli is a nice touch though.
