Custom Mini-Wrangler Offers a Totally Different Take on the Jeep

We’re not exactly sure how we feel about this Wrangler mod. Well, aside from the fact that it reminds us a lot of those Suzuki Sidekicks from the ’90s. Remember those?

The details on the Jeep, which we stumbled upon in a CarScoops story, are sketchy at best, aside from the obvious stuff, like the custom grille and huge lift. Our guess is that whoever owns the Wrangler might not really be a Jeep fan at all.

Why? Well, namely because of the fact that the custom SUV really looks nothing like a Jeep. In fact, the odd-looking vehicle seems like it was created for some wild wheel exhibit, more than anything geared toward off-roading.

Sure, one of the beautiful things about the Wrangler has always been how easy it is to customize. To dispute that is to dispute what has long been one of the biggest appeals of the Jeep. And while most here at JK Forum probably prefer Wranglers for their off-road capabilities, this Jeep certainly isn’t the first we’ve come across where it seems that the intent was to ignore the SUV’s roots.

That said, this custom contraption does fuel the lingering question: at what point do the extremes of customizing a Jeep to your liking start to take away from the essence of the brand? Then again, it all could be a matter of personal taste, which certainly would explain a lot of the custom Wranglers we’ve seen on the road.
