Off-Road Fail: Guy Floods Jeep Engine in a Bog Run

By -

You gotta feel for someone who just hydro-locked their engine on camera.

Some days are better than others, and for this jeep driver, this day would definitely be one of the others that you’d want to just forget and leave in the past. It starts off innocent enough: a Jeep just wants to drive through a watery part of a trail. It was just the outcome that wasn’t expected.

The video by Tyler Redding on YouTube starts with the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited covered in mud, suggesting the driver and his friend already had a day of fun on the trails problem-free so far. That is, until an equally muddy, watery pass came into the picture.

Hydro-locked Jeep WranglerWith a few bravery pills swallowed, the Jeep driver goes for it, sending muddy water into the air nearly three times the height of the Jeep. However, without fender-liners or a snorkel, water most likely splashed everywhere in the engine bay, up and into the intake tube as well. Everything after that is unavoidable.

After the Jeep decides to immobilize itself, the real funny part of the video begins. Stating the obvious fail, the cameraman asks “did you flood it?!?” Stating the obvious even more, the Jeep driver says “The car doesn’t turn on!!”

Jeep failAs both of them begin to move towards the engine to inspect it, the driver says “do you think I blew it?!” followed with the final part of the video “bro stop recording! Call Taylor! Bro stop this is not funny!”

We have to agree that it’s not the funniest video we have seen, because that would just be mean-spirited. However, it is a lesson in what not to do on the trail—show off. Hopefully this fail doesn’t dampen this Jeepster’s love for hitting the trails and going off-road. Next time out, we’re sure he and his rig will be ready.
