Innovative Autoworks JL Jeep Wrangler - SEMA 2019 Nov 6

Builder’s JL Wrangler adds a party in the back, keeps it all business at every corner and beyond.

We just have so much to share with you from our adventure at SEMA 2019 on the grounds of the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas! Do you have any idea how many badass Jeep builds there were? It was truly a competition to find the most outstanding Trail Rated Wrangler creations during our four days under the desert sun.

Through it all, we think we found a few gems we’d love to share with you. Here’s a fine example of a JL Wrangler, built by Innovative Autoworks of Wexford, Pennsylvania.

Under the hood of the Wrangler, the most noticeable change is the air intake system. Instead of the stock unit feeding air into the 3.6-liter V6, a new unit from Volant Performance pulls in tons of cold air for improved performance wherever the Jeep goes. Other than that, nothing appears to be changed with the venerable Pentastar V6.

The interior of the Wrangler is stock as well, but the real changes are to the outside. The stock doors are cast aside for aftermarket half-doors, providing protection from the big rocks on the trail, while providing an opening for air to filter in, and water to flow out.

While it may be all business everywhere else on the Wrangler, the party is in the back with a pair of JL Audio speakers. Mounted away from the cabin behind the rear seats, these boomers all but guarantee one hell of a shindig on the trail, if not a totally swinging beach party on a clear day, and into the night.

The gray Wrangler party rides upon a set of thick Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 tires, each mounted upon a fine bronze wheel with beadlocks to tie it all together. The hefty lift kit ensures an excellent time for everyone, no matter where the adventure takes them.

We loved spending some of our time at SEMA 2019 checking this Wrangler out, imaging all of the fun we’d have with it. Might even inspire us to do something like this with our rigs.
