Transparent Jeep

It took around six months to build this wild, custom transparent Jeep, but the results are truly impressive and unique.

We’ve certainly seen our fair share of wild, interesting, and sometimes wacky automotive builds over the years, but somehow, folks just keep topping themselves in that regard. It’s a true testament to the imagination and skill some folks have, and we normal people get to witness it unfold on a regular basis. One thing that hasn’t caught on in the world of custom cars, however, are vehicles that one can quite literally see through – putting all of their mechanicals on display – making this transparent Jeep perhaps a true one-of-a-kind creation.

The folks behind the Supercar Blondie YouTube channel spotted this transparent Jeep on a trip to the Off Road History Museum recently, and needless to say, it’s pretty hard to miss. Quite literally all of the bodywork is in fact transparent, and that’s easy to see even from a distance. Take a closer look, and you’ll notice that whoever put this thing together was careful to replicate the original lines of a vintage Jeep, and they did a fantastic job in that regard.

Though it looks like it could have rolled out of the factory in this guise, the transparent Jeep is a totally custom creation. It is seemingly street legal with lighting and all of the other goods one would need to get registered for road use, but the coolest thing about it is things like the engine are clearly visible outside of the SUV. One can also easily see all of the wiring, piping, and even little details like the back of the headlights and pedal assembly.

It took a reported six months to put this transparent Jeep together, and those folks took great care to make everything possible from that see-through material – including the seats. Much of the rest if finished in chrome, giving it a nice contrast, which includes the wheels, wrapped in wide white wall tires. Driving the one of a kind creation is also pretty amazing, as one gets to see all of those mechanicals in action while doing so.

There are a few other wild Jeeps on display at this particular museum – a wooden one, along with the world’s largest and smallest examples of the iconic SUV. However, the transparent Jeep is clearly the biggest head-turner of the bunch, we’d say.
