You might want to start keeping a tight eye on those Wrangler doors, because the easily removable pieces are turning out to be a hot commodity on the black market.

According to a WTNH report, New Haven, Connecticut has recently seen a spike in the number of Wrangler doors being stolen. That can turn out to be a pretty hefty hit for Jeep owners, as the doors run about $1,000 each.

There are, of course, a few locks on the market that can provide some level of security, but even those can’t guarantee that someone won’t walk away with your doors. Then again, much like those easy-to-steal soft-top window panels, that’s just one of those cons that comes with owning a Jeep.

“They can take the spare tire as well, there’s no lock for the fuel here, as well, so if they want it they’re going to just take it,” Jeep owner Juha Sarimaa told News 8.

Well put, Mr. Sarimaa, although I’m sure that’s little comfort to most here.
