Just ordered a 2008 2 Door Rubicon - MyGIG, Power Group, Auto, etc. yesterday. Dealer is thinking it will be 5-6 months (they’re thinking that new 4 Door Rubicon orders may not be built until 2009 MY). They heard that production is supposed to ramp up a little in January, but the Military Jeep order is also supposed to be completed early next year. Fortunately I’m not in a big hurry…

Actually I mean KZM. The front and rear bumpers are already in the garage. My AEV wheels came today. It appears that FT lifts are on backorder so maybe the jeep will get here before the lift......

I did some research and I don't think it means anything. When they went to the Wrangler name, they had to use a different name in Canada as there was another vehicle by the name Wrangler there, so they started with YJ, then TJ, now the JK, but nowhere could I find what they actually stand for, if anything.

scout probably found the same thing I found so here: http://www.go2rdsi.com/racing/jeepid.html

CJ stood for Civilian Jeep but after

# MJ: The Jeep Comanche pickup. Built from 1986-1992. J stands for Jeep and M is just a model number.
# XJ: The Jeep Cherokee built from 1984-2001.
# SJ or FSJ: A Fullsize Jeep Wagoneer or Cherokee built from 1963-1991.
# J: A fullsize Jeep Gladiator pickup built from 1963-1987.
# YJ: The Jeep Wrangler model built from 1987-1996.
# TJ: The Jeep Wrangler model built form 1997-Current.
# ZJ: The Grand Cherokee built from 1993-1998.
# WJ: The current Grand Cherokee model built from 1999-current.
# KJ: The new Jeep Liberty.

I have read that the military JK that is going to be produced will be built in Europe.

They also just announced that they are cutting the 3rd shift at the Toledo plant. It said in this article that the Liberty/JK factory was not part of the UAW negotiations since they have a seperate contract. This is new to me, I thought all factories were under the same contract.

We will see...

Thus far, I've had exactly the opposite experience, although I certainly do commiserate with all here who are enduring such long waits. My dealer - a pretty good guy - just called. The Jeep I ordered on October 2 has been built and is awaiting inspection ("I" status). Initially, after reading GW's forecasts of waits lasting up to 8 months, I'd (groan) expected this thing to come in around May of next year. And I do know that has happened to some here. So the dealer's call was a pleasant surprise.

08 Sahara 2-door, uncomfortably equipped
rock red
soft top
no "my Gig"
no AC
tow package
limited slip diff.
full doors

. . . and that's about it. Guess I'll install a 2.5" BB, shock extenders, a canopy top - and then just enjoy it for a few months.

10/02 ordered
10/22 "D"
10/23 "D-1"
10/31 "I"
Since you're either too disrespectful or too stupid to even get my nick correct, it comes as no surprise that you're incapable of comprehending my posts, either.

You didn't order a Rubicon Unlimited, so why in the hell do you think your order would take 8 months?

Or are you intentionally attempting to confuse people here?

Perzuki... How did you get a Sahara with no air? Is the air an option on a 2 door?
