Not retired, but I've spent some time in San Antonio. Maybe 4 hours outside of DFW area, but it seems to be the place to go for retirees. Randolph, Brooks, and Kelly take really good care of the retired community in the area. The housing market wasn't bad at all either. Don't know how it is these days, but 2 years ago it was really nice.

Default Any Jeep Clubs, Groups, Wheeling anything in Temple/Killeen Area

I am pretty new to the area and had to deploy as soon as I get there. I am starting to work on my jeep since my ex wife took the last one. I was just wondering if there are any jeep clubs or anything in the area. I can work on my own stuff a bit, don't want charity just like minded people who i can pick their brains and go offroading with. I went down to the park at Red Cedar, I think thats what it is called and only an into a lot of drunks who were kind of pricks on the trail. Since it was only me and my wife we didn't want to venture too much on the trails. Since I am military I don't mind being around other military. Just don't want to have to hear their stories, we all have them I don't want to tell mine and no offense I don't want to hear theirs. I don't care what rank they are. I have learned something new from every rank from private to General. I just want to be around laid back people. Currently I am in Afghanistan so it will be a bit before I get home, just trying to have something to do when I return.

The Ft. Hood chapter of Miltary Jeepers are a good group to link up with.
