In Memory of Our Fallen Hero - Gregory Rodriguez
As my Nick indicates i am a Canadian. I have Been to Afghanistan once and am going back in Jan 09 for 9 months. The Job the dog handelers do is amazing and they save many lives.
The war would be much harder without them.
God Bles you Gegory Rodriguez, and your family. May you hold faith that you died a hero and will be missed bhy everyone that knew you.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The ugliest is a person who thinks nothing is worth fighting and dying for and lets others better and braver protect him."

I didn't get a chance to meet or even have a discussion with 150 but I appreciate his service to our country and his sacrafice. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. After reading the great things that were written about him I know he will truly be missed in this community.

Tough to find the words for this one. Got the email earlier, but just stopped in to the forum now.
I didn't know 150. Don't remember reading any of his posts right off the top of my head. Never PM'd him about anything to my knowledge, but I still feel the loss. After 13+ years in the USAF, it hits hard anytime you hear of a Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, Marine, or even civilian dying (or supporting the war effort) in Iraq or Afghanistan.
RIP, 150, you'll be missed.
In closing, I'd like to say I'm glad this thread hasn't been marked by some moron saying that 150 died for no reason 'cause we shouldn't be over there. Whether you think we should be there (Iraq, Afghanistan, or both) or not, the SSAMs DO believe we should be there. If we didn't, then we'd get out of the military at the end of our reenlistment or just not enlist in the first place (for those who enlisted after those Operations began).
We do what we do because we WANT to. We're an all volunteer force. I've never been the desert and maybe never will, but if I ever get the order and end up going and if I end up giving it all, then I did it because I wanted to, not because I was forced to.
Sorry for rambling on. I'm out.
