I am new to the site and just got my JK before I deployed to Iraq. I wanted to thank this site and whom ever sent me the E-mail about this tragic event. I am also an K-9 MP (SSD handler) out of FOB Hammer, Iraq and due to limmited news and events being available here I would not have know that we lost a brother in Afganistan. My heart goes out to the family. Take care and GOD bless.

Old Soldiers Creed

This is my Old Soldier Creed
Is duty for me, as vet, is to REMEMBER.
And loved the flag you cherished too.
I mourn with saddened face,
Upon the coffin, flowers that will be placed
So my thoughts will just stay with
A soldier, a friend
Oh how we did our best , and to its end.
As you do now, from test to test
In step we marched, the cadence way
The same is true with you today
OUR FALLEN BROTHERS IN ARMS

But he was someone's husband,
father, brother or son.
But with each life given.
Someone's family is missing one.

The starkness of a silhouette
Upon the battlefield of black
The image of one who fought for us
But did not make it back.

When you see the Stars and Stripes
Blowing in the wind,
Say your thanks in your prayer's
For each one of them.

All those who died for our future days.

It's hard to hear.
It brings everything back from December of 2003.
My cousins son Jason Wright 19, 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
Was killed December 8, 2003 by enemy fire from a passing vehicle in Mosul
My thoughts are with the Rodriguez family.
It brings everything back from December of 2003.
