Big Bear Forest Fest 2011
Yup, hope to see you tackle Dishpan on your stock 4door
BTW, are you a member of the club? I'm thinking of joining. The club looks very family oriented.
Gold Mtn for the Friday night run.
I wanna do Bull without breaking a stabilizer so I have to do that...hopefully 3rd time's the charm
(Saturday)
Dishpan for Sunday.
Basically, looked at what you're doing and copied it + gld mtn.
Damn, I should have looked at the trail assignments first (or I shouldn't have procrastinated). Both Bull and Dishpan are full on those days. I'm on the waiting list hoping someone drops off.Either way I'll be on a trail somewhere in those mountains that weekend.

Don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but... at last week's IE4W meeting... there is a very slight miracle chance that Holcolm will be open for Big Bear Forest Fest.
Can't give details, but if you are signed up, don't stay home because you heard it will be closed. However, if Holcolm does open, only BBFF participants will be allowed.
Note: The Holcolm runs are full so you can no longer sign up for them.

Not signed up for it either. Actually volunteered to work check-in Friday night then moving my daughter to San Diego Saturday. Probably look around for a Sunday run or go back up to help with tear-down.
I hope it's open, what's it been..4 years?
Two other friends and I signed up really early and got in! It's not one of the most difficult by any means, but still one of my favs! The last time I was on that trail, I had an 04 rubicon, seems like forever!

What a nice email to wake up to: We were just informed by the National Forest Service late Thursday that the Holcomb Creek Trail will not be open until the 4th of July weekend - it may be open the week before (June 28 or 29) but under no circumstances will they allow us to use the trail for Big Bear Forest Fest. My Jeep Rocks (the adopt-a-trail club that is responsible for Holcomb Creek) has done a fantastic job of overseeing the restoration and clean-up of the trail over the past couple of years and felt sure that it would be open - the Forest service surveyed the trail last week and identified a couple more items that need to be done and feels the trail is still too dangerous to allow any traffic until the final clean-up is completed.
I can't believe it's that close to opening and they won't let us on it! &@)(!?!!
