The pictures below show it as it was being put together. I'll snap a couple pics of the finished product later.

After another trip this weekend, I have decided to add trailer brakes. The trailer is not that heavy but it tends to push the 2-door jeep down hills when traveling over mountain passes. I'd like more control and stopping power.

Brakes Added
Added trailer brakes this weekend - what a difference!
Was it worth the expense? Total cost = $277
When I started the trailer build, I considered brakes, but decided it would not be that heavy to need brakes. Towing the trailer in the 2-door jeep, especially downhill and around sharp curves, there is a noticeable "push" effect of the trailer on the Jeep's rear end. Brakes have equalized that effect, plus my typical stopping distance is shortened considerably.
What I used:
Dexter 10" electric brakes (3500 LB Axle) - * Ebay as kit, with Drums, bearings, seals, ($180 Shipped)
Primus IQ Brake Controller - Amazon, $75 shipped
7-pin Plug (both Jeep and Trailer), Custom Wired - Walmart, $22
I will add reverse lights to the trailer's rear bumper later on, but its wired for them now.
Time will tell - but I can tell you that it feels more safe now, and more comfortable to drive.
