Hey guys,
Been quite a while since I've been on, but noticed this thread and wanted to reply. I've been through the CCW process with Fresno Sheriff's office and it's not too big of a deal. I got it under Pearce and have renewed under Mimms. I'm up for renewal again this summer. It just takes time, mainly. When I did it originally, my initial interview was schedule 3 months out. I had to wait for that, then go take the class and go back to the Sheriff's office to finalize everything, get printed, etc. It's kind of funny, because the guys that oversee the CCWs are actually really pro-carry. I still sometimes feel like I'm doing something wrong carrying a gun around, even after 6 years
, but being self-employed and working in "the hood" frequently, I'm definitely glad I've got it and don't mind paying the $70 or so it costs to renew every 2 years. BTW, I carry an XD40 Sub-compact. Love it!
