Who needs 35's?

Doesnt look too bad in the pic, but this officially sucked

See Saw (THIS REALLY SUCKED)

And here is what Scott and I had for lunch. I didnt think I would be hungry again, but after excavating my colon on the run today I needed a big greasy treat
Me

Scotts diet platter

Couple things learned today:
1. If Scott says it is a "light" trail, he is lying.
2. In this crap the 4 doors definitely are better. This was the first time on a run where I was kind of concerned about rolling my Jeep. Brutal.
3. If Scott says it is a "light" trail, he is lying.
4. If you are about to go thought crappy thick mud and Scott messages you on the CB, dont let off the gas to answer him. (see first pic)
5. If Scott says it is a "light" trail, he is lying.
6. When Scott says you dont need to air down, he is lying.
7. After Scott tells you to do a obstacle, ask him if he did it sway bars disconnected and lockers on....they will be while you look at your X and try to figure out how to undo your sway bar while it is leaning on the drivers door. (See pic a couple of posts down)

Anyway good time had by all.
As for damage, nothing noted as of yet but and interesting side effect. My steering wheel was a little off after doing my lift. Todays run seemed to have straightened it I did however move my rear bumper up about half an inch...

Sorry bout the log Scott, but I am pretty sure that is what got us through the obstacle Well that and the fact you packed it down
I too spent 10 bucks at the pressure wash...and it still looks dirty. I did wash out my engine compartment though....oooh black again....

Hey those are some good action shots....not too bad at all.

Glad to hear a set of cahonees are growing out of you after that....I know the "Lighter than air see-saw" or "Boat in the waves" feeling of being suspended with one or two wheels up.....

You really want to test your pucker factor? Lets head to Moab

I'm thinking Baby Lions Back, Metal Masher, Hells Revenge, and Potato Salad Hill.....maybe Tip Over Challenge to.....those are all a pile of fun

Looks like a great time guys! Glad you both enjoyed.

Sadly we didn't get to do Lions Back. It was (and still is) closed.

I got closed permanently after a fatal accident on it, here it is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpbkTncjEOs

The guys truck was unfit for the road and his brakes failed (imagine SEVERE brake fade) on the decent.

We did however do Baby Lions Back. I'll be the first to tell you, it may be much smaller, but there is nothing Baby about it.

Nothing but sky going up, and standing straight up in your seat going down...with about 4-5 feet of space on either side to fall off the edge.

Wow.

Wow that looks pretty intense. Common sense says that your rig should be tip top before attempting something like that.

Actually just did some research on Lions Back. It didnt get closed due to that accident. It looks like it got closed due to someone who owned the land closed it. Too bad...it looked liked knuckle biter.

From another forum:

"The remainder of the lease was purchased by a development company and Lion's back is being closed. Condos are planned, and the company is seeking to have the area annexed to be in the city limits.

Part of the land purchase was below Potato Salad Hill, and I've heard it will not be open during Safari after this year. This came from a reliable source in the Sheriff's Office, so it's likely to be true as they are responsible for enforcement there at the present time.

Moab is changing and not for the better."

Hmm its interesting you mentioned development, because when were there last there was alot of new neighborhoods being built and roads....

However, when you go into the park where Hells Revenge, Baby Lions Back, Lions Back, and Fins N Things is, you have to pay at a toll gate....money in the envelope and envelope into the mail slot...

Now, as for closure for development, specifically Lions Back, my reasearch was going right up to Lions Back, marvelling at its hugeness, and standing at a closed gate with a sign saying "Lions Back Permanently Closed. Unsafe Trail system" and there was a black and white photo of the flipped over rig that crashed at the bottom.....then there was a thing saying "By authority of (Can't remember the name) recreation area" so....who knows.

Trail closures always have so much controversy and stories, who knows whats right. The impression I had based on the sign on the gate was that it was closed due to that accident......then again, I could have been stoned from the 70 degree C. weather.
