Algonquin Radio Dish
I don't want to be an enviro-nut but it says the dishes are in Algonquin Provincial Park, are you allowed to Jeep through the park?? Just asking cause I know most of the P.P. in Manitoba are off limits.
If it's legal then have fun guys and sorry for the "yes mother" type of post.

The dish is in Algonquin Park but by the looks of it, both from mapping software as well as sat images, it looks like there are vehicule access roads. Most of these roads are just your regular plain gravel roads that come of the main artery; highway 60. As well there are quite a few campsites within the region that are a little more hidden but nontheless offer vehicular access.
At no time, will or should the vehicules leave the designated park road.

Being a highway 60 in Algonquin "pro".....I have toured the Highway 60 in the park itself extensively and located alot of access roads. I would drive down them about a mile only to be met by gates and fences that have signs on them indicating "Authorized Park vehicles only by order Minisrty of Natural Resources.
I fear that if this excursion is off Highway 60 in the park, we may get screwed before we know it due to authority access only barricades.

I just had a look at the website for the dish and it appears you can drive right up to it. Not much of a Jeep tour, more of just a road trip.
I might head up on the 2nd of August depending if the S/O has to work. The weather will also play a part in what I bring, kayak and fishing rod will be on board if the weather is nice.

Havign just read the link, I know that area well, I've been up there a couple of times.....it is all gravel road for miles and miles into the park, and the scenery is just amazing. Its Northern Algonquin, what more could you ask for?
Baron Canyon hiking trail is just amazing, a very deep canyon with spectacular views....very VERY much suggested to take a walk along there.
Las chance for gas is just before you enter the park itself, supplies and water also....theres a little outfitting shop a few klicks from the Sandlake Gate access point.
Of course, a good idea would be to book a camp site at Achray if you're going, and make a full weekend of it, and enjoy Algonquins fabulous Northern Interior splendor.
