we have a couple cobra 19 mini CB's installed in our two JK's, but the reception isnt clear when we talk to each other. We have the antenna on a bracket on the spare tire mount. We dont get any distance and its not clear when we talk. Anyone know how to fix this and what we can do??

What kind of Antennas and have you metered the system to tune it?

if the antennas are tunable, let me know the next trail ride you two are doing and if I can make it, I will bring the meter with me.

Make sure you have a ground wire from the antenna mount to the door panel or frame..

This is only true if he is using a ground plane antenna

The biggest thing is your tune, when you set up the cb's, did you tune them with an SWR Meter?

If you didnt, I would not recommend you use them until you do, as you can damage your radio. SWR meters can be found at truck stops, or lots of the guys on the forums have them, including myself.
