Default badlands....

just went through there last month, and camped for the night. the sights are kool sunsets and rises put shadows on the buttes and create a nice 3d look bring a camera. the camp sites were close together as are most campsites in a national park setting, no showers but bathrooms and water to fill your tanks.
Not far from the black hills you may as well go there and see mt. Rushmore and crazy horse as well; only about 1.5hrs away i think.
i would say it is a place to see in your lifetime.
dunno really anything about wheeling in that area

Badlands Off-Road Park or Badlands National Park?

I was at the Badlands Off-Road Park in Indiana this past weekend. It was my second trip there.

Here are the highlights.

If you meant the other one... sorry.

I agree. Definitely worth a trip. I plan to go back someday. Don't know about trails, but the scenery is amazing. My kids loved Mount Rushmore. They also got a kick when I took a backroad behind the mountain and when we saw a large rock outcropping on the other side, I told them it was one of the presidents butts.

Awesome vid.

Where did you mount the camera for the shots taken from the bumper, with the underneath view of the stinger. Really cool.

Thanks.

I used one of the sticky mounts that came with the GoPro. It is attached to my Poison Spyder light bracket just above the fairlead.

Sorry, I meant badlands off-road park. I didn't know there was a national park by the same name. Was thinking of going wheeling there. Looking at buying an LOD rear bumper. Their facility is 45 mins from badlands. Thought I'd make a weekend road trip. pick up my bumper, go wheeling, then come home and install new bumper.

Brother Ika, we went through in 2008. Awesome landscape for sure! Rushmore is something to see and just a few miles away is Crazy Horse even more awesome to see because it is still a work in progress.
Got lots of pictures from the trip, I will dig them up.

yep.. i go at least once a month. I live 45 mins from there. we are going on august 6th if youre interested. also.. my jeep club is hosting an event at an offroad park about 2 hours north of the badlands over labor day weekend. not sure when you plan on being in the area. if you look in the great lakes section on here there are groups of guys going to the badlands all the time.
