Chertsey Clean-Up Photos
Some postings on another thread reminded to post this news.
This was a trail clean-up event at Chertsey on 11th September 2010 attended by Montreal-area (and beyond) 4x4, ATV, motorcross clubs.
Quite a few of the JKF members attended - Alext, TrackLock, myself to name but a few. There were a lot of JKs there, which was great to see.
This is an important event for us as it shows the local residents, police and dignitaries that we are a responsible bunch. It is only with their continued support that we will be able to enjoy the wonderful network of trails up in Chertsey.
From the ORA Website:
"Thanks to every one who attended this event and made it a huge success. The amount of garbage collected was incredible considering the amount that we hauled away last year. The city supported the event by providing the equipment, containers, backhoe, breakfast and a great lunch along with water/soft drinks. ORA provided the distribution of tasks assigning each group locations to clean. This was an important event as it showed the city of Chertsey that all the 4x4 clubs, hikers, ATV are more then willing to chip in and help make sure that we can continue give back and cleanup."
Some photos:
Mission control - ORA members coordinated groups to clean-up specific trails and areas of Chertsey. The municipality of Chertsey also put on a great BBQ and drinks for all participants. Lots of support from 4x4 clubs across the Montreal region. In addition, Club Adventure travelled from Quebec City and EOTB from the Ottawa region to attend. Awesome.

Lots of garbage was collected throughout the day filling at least one container. The city also recovered three burnt out cars and one camper van from the trail heads. My group managed to find a stash of horticultural equipment, including timer, water pump, and fertiliser. Not sure if it was the F-350 guy either... but that's another story.

And the best garbage collector in the business... TC Jnr.
