Default Lingham Lake pics

well it was and interesting day, to say the least. Here are some pics.

Mike In the TJ started it all.......not a good idea

Off goes Dave(07rubi) in his Jeep to be a good Jeeper to help.....With Rob(tunes) on the hood with his new Chestwaders

Now dave is stuck and dion to hook up and make it 3 Jeeps in the Lake

Dion gets out of there and Dave is dangerously close to going over

Tunes heading back in to get warm after he filled the chestwaders

So off I go to take his place hooking up cables

Swinging Dave around with the help of 2summer and his new winch

End result Of water in Daves Jeep

So In the end both Jeep started right up after almost 3 hours in the Water
thanks to all who helped in the recovery of these Jeeps

It was quite the day out there for sure...definitely one of the scariest 3 hours I've experienced. I was just trying to help out a fellow jeeper (who maybe didn't make the best decision to go in there) since I was the best equipped with my new snorkel and didnt know who else would try and go in after him. Taking the advice of others I set out to try and recover him. It all did go wrong once I yanked him back the first time and ended up losing my passenger side on a drop off. By the end of the 3 hrs the water in the jeep completely covered the passenger side of the jeep, the water was up to the windows on that side and the more water I took on the closer I got to flipping over completely. I was sitting in water trying to drive out of there, not a experience I would like to repeat, nor sitting in that water freezing my ass of for 3 hours. When the engine died on me that was also very scary, luckly rod and I did a good install on the snork which prevented a sure hydrolock. There were also several times while I was being winched when I was so closer to flipping right over in the water. not a good feeling. long day but I learned quite a few good lessons out of it that I'll keep for a longggggg timme...

A huge thanks steve (scbesse) who came into the water for a long time to help me get hooked up and out of there (and for moral support) and to bruce (2summer) for wrecking his winch cable in the long process of recovering me and rob (tunes) for being the first one in to help. thanks so much guys

Thankfully the only causalities have been my girlfriends phone she left in the jeep and my CB.....and my fan has stopped working which caused me to overheat on the trail out, so i've got to get that looked at.....and its gonna be a long process cleaning out the jeep...the seats are stained with mud and soaked all the way though. It could have been a lot worse out there and I'm pretty lucky, too bad many different aspects of this whole situation could have been avoided. anyways enough ranting.

Heres a pic of what it looked like as the water started filling up the jeep i wish i had taken some when it was all filled, but i had other things on my mind!
by the end it was over the shifter and center consoleand up to the windows

So, tell me again why the dude in the TJ thought he could make that?

BTW, the wife saw these pics and told me I would have been walking home.

Glad everyone made it home safe and sound. Apparently Dave is using my garage tomorrow to clean his rig up.

I wish you guys had have been there. It is only the one crossing that is bad. It has a bypass, so other than the mistake of the TJ guy it was a great day . I just felt bad for Dave trying to be the nice guy and then Bam....he is in worse trouble than the TJ. Oh and BTW I want my ShamWOW back bitches!!!!LOL

Hey what's a winch cable, at least we were able to recover both jeeps. Both fired straight up and after that little delay we were back on the trail.

All in all good day, water wasn't really that bad with the exception of that one crossing. Hell even managed to get the wife behind the wheel a few times to get her use to it.

So here's mine.

Enjoy the rest.
