So I took a welding course with todd a little while back, and decided to start on a few projects. The first one is a lightbar for the windshield, i've always loved how they looked on the older jeeps and no one really makes a nice or affordable one for the JK so i decided to put my new skills to the test.
I came up with a design based on a few different various ones I saw, I really wanted to keep it low profile and make it easily removable (Vancouver requires a lot of underground parking) and i wanted it simple, but fitting the lines of the JK. So with the help of Zebco's dad Russell in bringing the design to life I just finished it a couple days ago.
I didnt get a chance to take pictures of the build process because I forgot my camera all the time, but here are pictures of it as it is now with a few coats of primer on it, bedliner will come soon once I find a place to paint it. I ordered 5 IPF 968's from northridge (along with a AEV snorkel!!) and will pick those up next Tuesday from the US.
I mounted the bar on my existing KC windshield light tabs and added some gussets for strength. Enough talk here are some pics:

Let me know what you all think (keep in mind it is my first time welding!) either way I really like how its turned out!

Thanks guys.
I forgot to mention also the lights will be mounted upside down on the bar, they fit so that only the bottoms of the lights will be visible on the windshield from the inside.this is to keep it as low profile as possible, it total it will only stick up about 2 1/2" above the roofline.

Hey there is a Line-x place in Burlington, I don't know if that will help you. I just figured spray on might be alot better then roll one for something like that!
ps Good Job! cant wait to see it on the jeep!
