Anyone know the trail in Terrebonne? A few of us are getting together on Nov 17th to do this trail... Supposedly there's lots of sand, and it's fine for stock Jeeps.

Terrebonne is pretty much the only trail close to Montreal - that I know about. I'm trying to find others. There's a pretty active crowd on quebec4x4.com that organizes trail rides almost every week-end. The hick is the forum is in French. :-)

Do you have front tow hooks, a hitch, CB, Hi-Lift, and snatch strap? Those are pretty much essential...

Well I have the factory tow hooks and hitch. I ordered the recovery gear and should be getting it soon. I guess I overlooked the CB. I thought walkie talkies would due for now. I was only really planning to start going in a few weeks when I had more mods done. Where can one get a decent CB for a decent price?

Thanks

I got mine from walcottcb.com. You can probably find something local though -- I just tend to order everything online. :-)

You have to decide if you want something mounted in the Jeep permanently, with antenna, etc., or something handheld. The handheld is limited in range, but is ok for trail rides since people aren't too far. I think the handheld range limit is around 1 mile, where-as a mounted CB is something like 25 miles. Those are probably optimistic values though. :-)

Near Montreal you have some trail

Mud = Valley chaline at Vaudreuil
moderate to hard = Chertsey
rookies to moderate = Weir

and some other small and muddy trail. (La Prairie, Carignan...)

I'm considering Weir on Dec 1st, although the group is getting rather big now -- 15 trucks, last time I counted.

How's the trail in Vaudreuil? 35+ or is 32-33 ok? Where does the trail start (PM me the info, if you want to keep it private)? I might be interested in checking it out with 1-2 friends. Is it public land, or private? Do we need to arrange access with anyone?

BTW, in case you guys missed it, here are some pics from last Saturday's trail run in Terrebonne:

I think you will need 35+ .... too many people play there with big tire...so will have deep running rail.
