Yeah thats pretty serious.....I would considering sueing for that.....if you are unable to help yourself and a rescue service BRINGS you somewhere,, how can they charge you for putting you somewhere out of your control.

To save a WHOLE PILE of trouble and time, it might have been wise for the rescue crew simply to drop on the Canadian side and say "Good luck to ya"

To add, I really don't care if thats not "textbook". If it keeps someone needlessly out of jail then its the right thing to do......in my line of work we call it the "Ways and Means Act"

i would have demanded to go to shore on the Canadian side once rescued and if they failed to and brought me on the US side, and then if i got charged and held in custody I would have sued sued and called the Canadian consulate and see about abduction charges, it would have been a whole international incident going on.
33hr deprived of your human right to freedom. for no reason other than your life was in danger and someone took you ashore or you had no option to goto ashore or drown.... at what point does common sense come into play.

ya canadian wet backs going south at the falls that makes sense.

there is doing your job and there is then being a prick to make one feel like they are doing there job...i know i use both...lol
