on a scale of 1-10....1 being Steve whispering sweet nothings in your ear, and 10 being the sound of Steves engine trying to breath with a bag in the intake...where would you say it falls?

It is a solid 8.....it will scare the crap out of anyone standing near your Jeep. With the hood up it is ridiculous

so if it is on the stock switch did you upgrade the fuse from a 10 amp to a 20 amp
you really should
also
how does it work with the alarm / panic button
being that the air horn draws a lot more from the battery you should make sure that after a cycle or two of the alarm that there is enough juice there to start the jeep
testing this would involve going somewhere and making obnoxiously loud noise for 2 or 3 minutes

Just a thought,

ActuallyI threw in a 25 Amp, I am going to test with a 20 tonight though.

It works just like the stock horn did. Panic and what not. In the video that is the panic button being hit.
I let it run without the horns hooked up for close to a minute with no noticable battery drain. The compressor gets hot, but that can be expected.

Does anyone know how long the alarm will run for if left unattended?

hey Todd... I'll take you up on the offer : (I know scary thought... but considering I've let both Steve and Wayne work on the jeep, Dion put the highjack it up, Derek try to find where that weird clunk sound is coming from what's one more of the group) ...

We've got a PA by my place but I'm not sure they'll have the same stuff in stock... Pick me up one and we can install it while your tires are being put on..

DOnt quote me on this but I beleive the alarm sounds for about a minute....for a number reasons.....including: vehicle battery life (if it runs out, how are supposed to make your quick paniced get away?) and Provincial / Federal noise by-laws.....vehicle horns are loud and contribute to noise pollution and anything longer than a minute without a permit or extended circumstances would contravene those by-laws.

Again don't quote me on that, but that's my understanding.

Not a problem. Pick up a 25A fuse though from Crappy tire. or we can use the one from your hard top defrost in the mean time.

He is too lazy to go check and is just getting me to pick it up...
And the PA catalogue is national so they will have them.
