Default Regret on not getting a Rubicon

After thinking about it for a while I may have a regret of not getting a rubicon. The dana 44 front axle and transfer case. I would of had my 37's on by now and saved a bunch of cash. But then thinking of all the fun it has been upgrading and mod-ding the way I wanted to build my jeep my way. I will now have a stronger front axle with the pro rock 44 and air locks front and back. As for the transfer case the 5:13 will slow me down enough in 1st. So it's been 2/12 weeks since i ordered my axle and waiting till all the parts come in and get installed . I have had time to think about the ride to get to where i am now with my jeep , i am glad i got a x and built it my way . It will be all of a rubicon and more. Now where are my parts ? hahaha

I agree with you. One of the reasons I got the Sahara over Rubi was to save a little $$$ & mod the way I want in the future. Plus at the time, the Rubi didn't come with the "power convenience", only Saharas did.

Don't forget the AA Rubicrawler, then you have all the gearing you need. + 2 low.

One thing that pissed me off about the dealer when I bought my x is that I asked him if the only difference to the axles were the elockers and he said yes. If I had known the x didn't have the d44 up front I may have bought a rubicon instead.

I bought the X on purpose as opposed to the Rubi. I too wanted to build it my way, and make it stronger and better than a Rubi. Anyone can buy a Cadillac. But I'd rather build mine like Johnny Cash-one piece at a time.
The only diffence between me and Johnny, is my jeep cost me ALOT of dimes.

I decided on buying a sport purely based on the fact that I can build a "Better than Rubi" JK eventually. D60's + Rubi-crawler+Drivelines.

My regrets:

No power windows or locks.

No NAV - subwoofer etc.

I kinda like the dang ol hood decals.

I really REALLY wish I at least got the Sahara for the power options.
