Trails
Hello everyone, my family and I are planning a camping trip at the OTF campsite near McKellar (east of Parry Sound) for the week of August 5-11. I know that most trails are kept sort of hush hush to avoid overuse, but I was wondering if there was something in that area that is easily navigable as a solo vehicle, or if anyone would be in that area so I could tag along. First time out for me and want to try it out.
Hey there,
I know of two forum member up that way but cant remember their forum names.
Cathy and Dave from Lively (near Sudbury).
I think Cathy's forum name is something like "Rockit" but a member search didn't find that so it must be something different.
DAVE..... CATHY..... Are you guys here?

The Ardbeg trails have been groomed to be very passable in a stock rig. They may be a bit hard to locate, but are fairly close to Parry Sound.
As Rebel88 says, don't wheel alone. It's a long walk out to the B-grade, no... make that C-grade highway that takes you back to Parry Sound from the trail.
If you really can't wait to get out on trails, sit around just on the edge of town first thing Saturday morning and wait for the trucks to roll in to fill up with gas before they hit the trails. Ask nicely, look innocent and friendly, maybe they'll let you tag along. Behave nicely on the trail.
I'd try Minden or Bobcaygeon before Ardbeg. They are closer to town and shorter trails, in case things go sideways.
Good luck.

Thanks for the input and great advise. Will take a close look at the trail run forum on this and the other jeep forums.
Hopefully I will meet/see fellow JKer's out on the trails during the summer!
