Attached to bottom of skid plate. Haven't hit and rocks yet to bend it back, ha.

That would not last long on any of the trails I have done up here in Ontario. Not even the JKJam course we made to teach basic trail driving.
If you are going to mount it below the winch, mount it flush with the skid plate and as high as you can. (I have yet to scratch my skid, but I have bumped it so time will tell if the plate takes damage or not)
