I went to the cigarette lighter myself, that way I can take it out easily if I want to. Just personal preference. I'll see if I can make it, I'll let you know.

not sure how your reception is, but I was told by a cb shop that it should have a direct connection to the battery to eliminate static, and background noise?!?!?!

They say to wire it to the battery and straight to a good ground.

However, I had one mounted in my old Liberty through the cigarette lighter. Here's what was in there: a fridge, 2 powerinverters, a laptop, cb, Sat radio, and 2 GPS units. Frankly, I couldn't tell any difference or any extra engine interfernce. Now, the key is to make sure you dont screw up the antenna mount, and tunning. The antenna must be isolated from ground the proper way, and if you tune the antenna, you will get really good distances. Many CB shops will tune your cb for a nominal fee, or you could do it yourself. Just do a little searching on the net. There are tons of articles out there.

Well I started on the antenna mount tonight think It will work just fine, It is just a L bracket attached to the bolt on the rear tire carrier.
