PINE BARRENS OFF-ROADING DAY TRIP

SATURDAY , FEBRUARY 21, 2009
10:00 AM

**NOTE: MEETING LOCATION CHANGE**

MEET AT Atsion ranger station on Rt 206
Here the coordinates 39.742636, -74.725667
or you can just type Atsion Rd and Rt206

here are some directions to Atsion Ranger station

Atsion Ranger Station

From the north- look for 206. If you are on the New Jersey Turnpike, take Exit 7 onto 206 South. Continue on 206 South to the Red Lion Circle. The Red Lion Circle is the intersection of Rts 70 and 206. Continue on Rt 206 south. About 10 miles south of the Circle, after the 8 mile marker but before the 7, on the left is the Atsion Rangers Station. There are big flat grassy fields with good footing. Look for designated parking areas for the ride.

From the south, it is easier and cheaper to use 295 instead of the New Jersey Turnpike. Exit 295 on Rt 70 East, towards Medford. Stay on Rt 70 until the Red Lion Circle where it intersects with Rt 206. Go South on 206 and follow the directions from above for more details.

If you are coming from the south on Rt 206, the ride site is about 1/2 mile after the 7 mile marker on your right.

From the east, take route of choice (Rt 9, Garden State Parkway, etc.) to Rte 70W to the Red Lion Circle and pick up Rt 206 south. Follow directions from the north for the details.

From the west, take route of choice (206,295, etc. to 70 E to Red Lion Circle and take 206 south. Follow directions from the north for the details.

Include yourselves in the poll and include what equipment you are bringing (ie. winch, cb, walkie talkies, high-lift jack, straps, etc)

Are you taking the plunge? Congrats! Too bad SlickWill isn't around to bring his crazy friends. I'm sure they'd dance for you.

That's great Tim. I hope to see you there. I haven't been at the pines for nearly half a year. I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll have my AEV snorkel by then. You know we need it there.

I just checked - You are right. It was Feb of last year (2nd run_2/10/08). It seems like only a few months. Time definitely goes too fast. The first run was Dec 2, 07.
