4th Annual Family Trail Ride @ Rausch Creek - 10/25/14
We are getting closer to the ride and I'm pumped. I installed a teraflex leveling kit and did a light trail ride at stokes forest last week, that was the first time i was offroading. I'm bringing my 6 year old with me, it's still going to be a family ride ?

It doesn't look like this ride is going to be anywhere near as large as it has been the past couple years, so the number of kids there is going to be a lot smaller. That doesn't mean that it won't be family friendly. I will most likely have my 5yo daughter with me, and possibly my wife and 8yo daughter as well.
While most of you have been to Rausch before, there are a few that will be visiting for the first time. I posted a link in my original post that explains the paperwork and fees that you will need to take care of when you arrive at the park Saturday morning. Please print the forms and have them filled out ahead of time. It can get pretty crowded at the office on some days. Below are a few more things to keep in mind for the ride. I'm sure I will have forgotten something, so if you have any questions please ask.
-I would like everyone to meet in the staging area between 8-8:30AM. That will give us plenty of time to get everyone aired down and disconnected, and still get on to the trails by 9-9:30.
-Please bring a roll of toilet paper along with you. There are NO facilities available out on the trails.
-We will be stopping for lunch sometime after noon. Rausch does not offer any food, so you will need to pack yourself a lunch. Make sure you bring plenty of snacks and drinks, especially if you will have kids along with you.
-We will be returning to the staging area around 3:30-4PM to conclude the ride. Feel free to play around on the comp course for as long as you'd like.
-Rausch has an air station next to the office for you to re-fill your tires before you depart. While it is free to use, they appreciate if you would please donate a dollar or two that goes to the upkeep of their equipment. There is a jar in the office for donations.
-I don't know if anyone is interested, but the Broad Mtn Hunt Club is having a haunted hayride that night on their property, which is adjacent to Rausch Creek.

Y'all got room for one more? I'd be coming from VA but totally worth the trip to me...haven't been on a group trail ride in WAY too long and we can never get anyone in VA to do anything together.
Plenty of room. Do you want to be in the green group, or the green/blue group?
II's It's that time of year again everyone. If you're looking for a nice easy day out on the trails with the family/kids, then this ride is for you. For those of you that haven't been on this ride before, it is stock Jeep friendly. The pace will be slow and we'll be making plenty of stops for pictures and to let the kids blow off some steam. This year, we will have groups running GREENS and GREEN/BLUE trails. That being said, I'm going to be in need of some experienced Rausch trail guides. Please let me know if you think you might be capable of leading a group. I'll be keeping a running list of attendees in this post, and I'll update as often as I can. If you plan on attending, post in the thread and I'll put you on the list. I will not be keeping a "tmaybe" list, so please don't post until you're sure you will be attending. Include in your post if you will have kids with you and their ages. If at all possible, I'm going to try to keep kids of similar ages in the same groups. Also post if you want to be in a GREEN or GREEN/BLUE group. As we get closer to the date, I'll be posting more info regarding Rausch membership, meeting times, group assignments, etc. If you have ANY questions, please feel free to ask. You can either post them here in the thread, or PM me directly. Thanks, and I hope to see everyone on the trails! ATTENDEES: 1. dcharge74 (lead G) 2. Spikesjk 3.
