Any OHV trails in Gatlinburg, TN??
Possibly planning a quiet trip out to Gatlinburg sometime this summer and was wondering if anyone has been on any OHV trails in the area. I heard they have maps that outline some unpaved trails, but was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience. I'd love to find a trail that leads to a fishing hole, riverside or mountain side views. I welcome any water/mud crossings or rocks!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Tellico isn't too far...about an hour IIRC
N/M.... looked it up, it's a little over 2 hours... it's been about 6 years since I've been and my memory is not working to well.

I'm going next weekend. I would also like to know if there are any trails real close by. I'm staying close to Cades Cove. Don't really want to drive the 1 1/2 hrs to Coalcreek. Any one know of some trails?

There is really nothing close out there guys. I live in Knoxville and I am up there quite a bit. There's a lot of govenment property but it is either in the Smoky Mountain National Park (tree huggin) or Cherokee National Forest. CoalCreek aka WindRock is a sweet place but honestly it is almost 2hrs from Cades Cove and there are hundreds of atv'ers there. It is 85000 acres owned by a mining company that a local ATV club has made an agreement with. It is a nice place but 15 bucks a head is a little steep. That being said, we have people from all states coming in and they have two annual events (mud, and rock climbing). There are some TVA windmills on top of the mountain that are almost worth the trip.
Anyway, back to topic:
Rich Mtn Road
Cades Cove right by the second church, there is a primitive road that goes to the right. It is only a gravel road, that takes you back to townsend but it has some spectacular views.

Parson Branch Road
About half way through the Cove at the Gristmill and info center/ restroom area. This is another primitive road (gravel) but there are a lot of creek forging (mainly paved) some of the creeks depending on the rain, get about tire deep.

Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail
A paved road, but a beautiful five mile ride.

And last but not least there is http://www.offroadvoyages.com/index.asp
These guys have a couple hour hummer tour in some decent looking off road areas. We are wanting to see if we can just pay a fee and use the trails, but havent gotten in touch with them yet.
Know its not what your hoping for, but the closest I know to it...
